LET'S THINK ABOUT YOU

LET'S THINK ABOUT YOU

Creating safe, diverse, and equitable opportunities for people across our stores, offices, and factories.

At Steve Madden, our unwavering commitment to the well-being of our people is at the core of our mission to create a positive social impact throughout our local and global communities. We recognize the invaluable individual contribution and talents that drive our company's success and are steadfast in our dedication to giving back and promoting a more inclusive and equitable fashion industry for all.

DIVERSE REPRESENTATION & EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

At Steve Madden, our dedication to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment that offers a sense of belonging for all is unwavering. We strive to create opportunities for everyone to succeed and reach their full potential, from recruiting to retaining a workforce that reflects the vibrant tapestry of the world we live in.

OUR 2025 TARGETS:

  • Raise and advance all levels of underrepresented groups with a focus on leadership progression opportunities for all.
  • Engage all employees in professional development programs.

PROGRESS:

We are proud to foster a workplace that champions both equality and growth. Since 2021, women have held 50% of our leadership positions, a reflection of our ongoing commitment to gender balance and inclusive leadership.

We also believe that continuous learning is essential for both personal and professional development. In 2023, 4% of our employees took part in professional development programs. Recognizing the value of investing in our people, we significantly expanded these opportunities in 2024, resulting in 28% of our workforce participating in training and development initiatives.

FAIR & INCLUSIVE SUPPLY CHAIN

At Steve Madden, we’re dedicated to protecting human rights throughout our supply chain. We manage our supply chain in accordance with the International Labor Organization's (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Our Supplier Code of Conduct and Social Compliance Requirements provide suppliers with guidelines for measuring social responsibility performance and supporting factories in implementing sustainable improvements. In 2023, we updated the scope of this program by implementing technology solutions to find pathways to reduce audit fatigue, enhance our risk intelligence, and resource data-driven supplier engagement towards a future-ready supply chain.

OUR 2025 TARGETS:

  • Expand compliance training across Tier-1 strategic suppliers, which account for 80% of purchases.
  • Continue to map our top-level supply chain factories and share findings.

PROGRESS:

To support our goal of expanding compliance training across our Tier-1 strategic suppliers, we partnered with 50 factories in 2023 as part of our training program.
Our team also carried out 94 factory assessments to monitor progress and ensure standards are met. In addition, we continued our top-level supply chain mapping in 2024 and shared regional insights on our Tier-1, Level-1 suppliers to promote greater transparency.

GOVERNANCE

At Steve Madden, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical business practices. Our robust framework of policies, codes, and standards enables us to navigate the complexities of our industry and ensure that our employees, partners, suppliers, and stakeholders adhere to our shared values.
